New Delhi. One97 Communications (OCL), the parent company of the Paytm brand, announced on Tuesday the launch of UPI payment services for Paytm users in select international locations, including the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, France, Mauritius, Bhutan, and Nepal.
According to a statement, this move will allow users to make payments for shopping, dining, and other services abroad using UPI through the Paytm app. The statement said, "One97 Communications (OCL), a leading payments and financial services provider in India and the owner of the Paytm brand known for QR codes, Soundbox, and mobile payments, has launched UPI payment services for Paytm users at select international locations."
Indian travelers can now enjoy seamless, cashless payments using their Paytm app in destinations where UPI is accepted. These include popular locations in the UAE, Singapore, France, Mauritius, Bhutan, and Nepal.
A Paytm spokesperson said, "With the upcoming holiday season, we are confident that this initiative will make international travel more convenient for our users."
