Thane. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that the proposed water taxi service in Mumbai will enable people to reach the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport from anywhere in the city within just 17 minutes, significantly reducing travel time.
Speaking at an election rally in Thane city on Sunday night, the Minister for Road Transport and Highways highlighted government initiatives aimed at transforming connectivity in Mumbai and Thane and reducing traffic congestion. Assembly elections in the state are scheduled for November 20.

Gadkari stated that with the launch of the proposed water taxi service, passengers would take "only 17 minutes" to travel from any part of Mumbai to the airport.He also mentioned that a ‘jetty’ near the airport has already been constructed to support this initiative. “By utilizing the extensive maritime routes around Mumbai and Thane, we can significantly reduce traffic congestion and air pollution,” Gadkari added.
