New Delhi. SoftBank-backed e-commerce platform Meesho has taken action against 22 million suspicious transactions on its platform over the past year and filed 12 cases. According to the company's "Trust Assurance Report," released on Monday, Meesho's team has developed advanced analytical models, sophisticated data science frameworks, and computational logic. These efforts have helped block 1.3 million "bot orders" and prevented 7.7 million attempts to access the platform for fraudulent activities.
The report stated, "In the last 12 months, Meesho has prevented over 22 million fraudulent transactions. Additionally, the company has taken extensive measures to remove malicious elements from the platform." It added, "As part of its efforts against account hacking fraud, Meesho initiated proactive investigations, resulting in nine cases being filed against over 40 suspects in Kolkata and Ranchi."
Discount on NYKAAMeesho claims it has reduced lottery fraud incidents by 75% since October 2023. To combat these frauds, large-scale investigations were conducted in Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Ranchi, leading to three FIRs being filed against these schemes. According to the report, Meesho has partnered with various threat intelligence platforms to deactivate over 18,000 fraudulent social media accounts and shut down approximately 130 fake websites and apps.
The e-commerce company has also approached the Delhi High Court seeking a permanent injunction against fraudsters running fake websites using the Meesho brand name.
