US announces visa bans

Washington.  The imposition of visa restrictions on Israeli settlers involved in undermining peace, security, or stability in the occupied West Bank has been announced by the US Department of State. Secretary of State Antony Blinken made this announcement on Tuesday, following the State Department's statement that Israel has not taken sufficient measures to address settler attacks that have displaced many Palestinians from their land.
To combat settler violence in the West Bank, President Joe Biden and other senior US officials have consistently urged Israel to take action. Blinken emphasized the importance of holding extremist settlers accountable for their violent acts against Palestinians in the region. While individual visa bans were not specifically mentioned by Blinken, department spokesman Matthew Miller confirmed that the bans would be implemented, starting on Tuesday, and would initially affect "dozens" of settlers and their families. The number of individuals targeted and their identities were not disclosed for reasons of confidentiality.
