Turkiye repeatedly warns to Israel over plan against Hamas

Ankara. Ankara has once again issued warnings to Israel regarding its alleged plans to take action against Hamas. Turkish intelligence sources have emphasized that any attempt to target Hamas members within Turkey's borders would have severe consequences. This cautionary message follows statements made by Ronen Bar, the head of Israel's domestic security service, Shin Bet, who revealed that Israel has initiated plans to carry out assassinations targeting Hamas members residing outside of Palestinian territories. Bar's remarks, which were aired on Israel's public broadcaster Kan on December 3, echoed similar comments made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his defense minister the previous month. Bar stated in an audio recording, "In every place, in Gaza, in the West Bank, in Lebanon, in Turkey, in Qatar, everywhere... It'll take a few years, but we will be there to do it.

According to Turkish intelligence sources, in light of various media reports and statements made by Israeli officials, they have issued appropriate warnings to relevant parties concerning Israel's plan to target Hamas members residing outside of Palestine, including in Turkey. Additionally, Ankara has conveyed to Israel that any actions contradicting this warning would result in significant repercussions, as stated by the aforementioned sources. These sources further highlighted that numerous international intelligence agencies have previously attempted unauthorized activities within Turkish territory, all of which were successfully prevented. They underscored Ankara's firm stance in not allowing any foreign intelligence service to carry out such operations within its borders.

Bar drew a parallel between the objective and Israel's endeavor to eliminate the militants responsible for the tragic 1972 massacre of its Olympic team members in Munich, Germany. The majority of Hamas' prominent figures reside in foreign lands, particularly in Qatar, a significant contributor to the recently concluded ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, as well as in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad, has faced allegations of engaging in a number of targeted killings abroad, targeting Palestinian militants and Iranian nuclear scientists throughout the years.
