Israeli citizens demonstrate in Tel Aviv for the release of hostages.
Paris. A diplomatic agent working for France died of injuries sustained in an Israeli airstrike Wednesday evening in the southern Gaza Strip, the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs announced Saturday. France demands answers after employee dies in alleged Israeli strike.
The agent, whose family was able to leave Gaza for France as part of the evacuation, was hiding out in the Rafah home of one of his colleagues from the Consulate General of France when an Israeli bomb struck the building, killing him and "killing tens of people," according to a statement from the French ministry. He had worked for France beginning around 2002. "Tonight, we are grieving him and we have an extraordinary idea for his partners at the Department General of France in Jerusalem," the service said in the explanation. " France censures this bombarding of a private structure which caused the demise of numerous different regular citizens. We request that all light be shed by the Israeli experts on the conditions of this bombarding, as fast as could really be expected."
The Israeli military didn't return a solicitation for input late Saturday. The claim came that very day an Al Jazeera columnist who was injured in a robot strike that killed his cameraman said the outing during which the assault occurred had gotten endorsement from and was composed with the Israeli military.
