New Delhi. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is preparing to start cashless treatment facilities across the country for those injured in road accidents in the next three-four months? A top official gave this information on Monday?

Road Transport and Highway Secretary Anurag Jain inaugurated an event on road transport here, saying that the number of people who lost their lives in road accidents in India is the most in the world is more? Jain said, ‘ Providing free and cashless medical facilities to people injured in road accidents is part of the Revised Motor Vehicles Act, 2019? Some states have implemented it but now the Ministry of Road Transport along with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is going to implement it across the country. ’

Simultaneously, the Transport Secretary said that the nationwide facility for cashless treatment for the injured would start in three-four months?  He said that under this scheme, the victims of road accidents have been conceptualized to provide cashless trauma care to the appropriate hospital near the scene? This step will be in line with the decision of the Supreme Court and has been empowered since the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act, 2019. Jain said, ‘ Road accidents will be provided to the injured during cashless treatment at nearby hospitals ‘ Golden Hour ’ as defined in the Motor Vehicles Act. ’ In order to save the lives of those injured in an accident, the time within one hour of the accident is considered very important and is called ‘ Golden Hour ‘ in the medical world is.

Along with this, Jain said that the Ministry is also taking initiative to educate and make people aware to reduce road accidents. In the same order, the Ministry of Education has agreed to include road safety in schools and college courses. They said, A number of steps have been taken for engineering-related changes to ‘ signs reminding seat belt wear and vehicle safety standards ‘ India Encap ‘ for the first time has been released. ’ On this occasion, President of the Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE) Rohit Baluja said that road safety experts attending the conference will investigate and analyze road accidents.
