Rohit and Virat were crying in the dressing room after the defeat in the final.

Chennai. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ain said that after the defeat to Australia in the recent ODI World Cup final played in Ahmedabad, captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli could not control their tears in the dressing room. Australia won its sixth ODI World Cup title by defeating India by six wickets in the final played on 19 November.

After India's defeat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to the Indian dressing room and tried to encourage Rohit and Kohli. But Ain said the atmosphere in the dressing room was heartbreaking. While talking to former cricketer Subramaniam Badrinath on his YouTube channel, Ain said, 'Yes, we were feeling pain. Rohit and Virat had tears in their eyes and it felt very bad to see this. Whatever happens, this should not have happened. This team was very experienced and everyone knew what to do.

Even though India could not win the World Cup, Kohli and Rohit impressed everyone with their aggressive batting. Ain praised Rohit as a batsman and captain. He said, 'If you look at Indian cricket, everyone will say that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the best captain, but Rohit Sharma is also an extraordinary person, he has a good understanding of every player in the team.'

Ain said, 'He knows the likes and dislikes of each player and his understanding is very good. He tries his best to understand each player well.' Ain played only one match in the entire World Cup. He played in India's first match against Australia in Chennai in which he took one wicket for 34 runs. When Ain was asked why Rohit did not include him in the playing eleven in the final, he supported the captain and said that it is not easy to make changes in a winning team. He said, 'As far as my playing in the final is concerned, team composition is important, other things come later. It's about standing in someone else's shoes and seeing things from their perspective.
