Nilekani and Kamat found place in Forbes Heroes of Philanthropy list

New Delhi. Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, DLF chairman emeritus K. P. Singh and Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath have been included in the 17th edition of Forbes Asia's 'Heroes of Philanthropy' list. This list was released on Thursday.

According to a press release issued by Forbes, no 'rank' has been given to anyone in the list. It features industry leaders who are making significant donations and personally addressing select issues. 15 philanthropists have been included in the annual list. Nandan Nilekani, co-founder and chairman of technology giant Infosys, donated Rs 3.2 billion (US$38 million) to IIT Bombay in June, according to Forbes.

Singh, 92, had in August sold his remaining direct stake in the real estate company for charitable purposes and raised Rs 7.3 billion. Singh stepped down from the post of chairman of DLF in 2020. Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath's YouTube podcast series 'WTF Is' is donating up to Rs 1 crore to a charity chosen by its viewers.
