India is a fair market with huge opportunities : NetApp

Las Vegas. Global software company NetApp believes that the lack of domestic vendors makes the Indian market open, where anyone can compete on a 'fair basis'.

The company based in San Jose, USA, wants to make India the largest market in Asia by surpassing Japan in the medium term. Kerala-born NetApp Chief Executive Officer (CEO) George Kurian said Asia is performing better than the rest of the world. A target has been set to increase the share of this continent in the company's revenue from the current 18 percent to 20 percent. “The size and scope of the Indian market is strong,” Kurien said on the sidelines of the company's annual event 'Insight' here. It is the fastest growing large economy in the world. And there are no major domestic sellers. Therefore the Indian market is open for all to compete on a fair basis. Therefore we believe that this is a good opportunity.

He said that a large number of multinational companies are setting up their technology centers in India and many American companies are taking decisions from their units located there. Kurien said that what attracts companies from all over the world to India the most is the talent base there. NetApp alone employs more than 3,000 people locally.
