Marrakesh. Film festivals are being organized in West Asia amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas and tension prevailing in the region. Marrakesh International Film Festival is being organized despite the war in Gaza. 'Saudi Arabia Red Sea Film Festival' will be organized next week.
Directors Martin Scorsese, Richard Linklater and actress Jessica Chastain and actor Mads Mikkelsen are expected to arrive in Marrakesh to attend the Marrakesh International Film Festival. Moroccan Prince Moulay Rachid has described Marrakesh as 'a bastion of peace that brings people closer.' The film festival opens on Friday with Linklater's action-comedy 'Hitman'. More than 70 films will be screened in this festival which will run till December 2.
Due to the Palestine-Hamas conflict in West Asia, people were also opposing this film festival in Morocco. But the government organized it ignoring the people's protest.
